What We Do

HOW WE WORK
Teens Fighting Hunger raises money primarily by selling high quality products created/provided by its teen volunteers (HungerFighters). Arts and crafts form the cornerstone of our efforts though the possibilities for other money-generating products and activities are endless. We also work closely with schools, helping conduct class projects and activities that not only raise funds but promote hunger education and individual involvement & growth as well.

Teens Fighting Hunger is actively seeking sponsors (large and small employers, foundations and individuals) to provide matching funds such that every dollar raised becomes so much more (double, triple or even more). Periodically, proceeds from product sales are combined with donations and disbursed to local hunger-relief organizations. The initial recipient of TFH funds was the Oregon Food Bank, a U.S. leader in hunger relief and an expert in the areas of leveraged procurement and precise, cost-effective distribution.

The low price point of the current products ($2 – $30) further allows customers the opportunity to donate incremental dollars.

WHERE WE SELL
Our handmade products are soldĀ online as well as at outdoor markets, local business offices, in-home gatherings, fundraising events and targeted retail locations.

WHO WE HELP
Proceeds raised from product sales as well as outright donations will go to local hunger relief organizations. To date, recipients of proceeds have included The Tualatin Schoolhouse Pantry, Transitional Youth and Oregon Food Bank, a leader in hunger-relief throughout the nation.
